Project Background

Developing a utility to help synchronise and migrate from third-party directories to Oracle Internet Directory (OID). It also supported provisioning access to various different 3rd party applications.

Challenge

  • Supporting multiple third-party directories
    We had to provide support for various directories including iPlanet, Tivoli and Microsoft Active Directory. We architected the application to include a generic framework for directory synchronization and provisioning that integrated seamlessly with third-party directories.
  • Standards were not mature
    At the time of this project execution there were no standards mature enough for directories & user provisioning. We had to deal with many proprietary nature of workflow adopted by various directories and provisioning services.

Perennial’s Implementation

  • Develop and maintain administration tools for configuration management & status updates.
  • Develop Synchronization Service (Scheduler | Rule-engine | Data Transformation).
  • Develop Directory Provisioning Service (Profiling & Integration | Event & Error Handling).
  • Test with third-party identity providers and with provisioned applications.
