Perennial delivered a multi-platform OTT service offering one of the world's largest collections of premium South Asian movies to global consumers. The platform boasts partnerships with India's foremost and most popular film studios. Accessible on iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as Android TV, this solution caters to diverse audiences.

Challenge

  • The solution must scale to accommodate millions of users while maintaining optimal Quality of Service (QoS).
  • Design and implement a content ingestion, enrichment, management and analytics platform with a focus on resilience, high availability and scalability.
  • Develop an analytics platform to support functions such as viewership metrics and Ad Analytics.

  • Built a scalable serverless pipeline to ingest, process, enrich and publish content in a single metadata store.
  • Utilized ML & AI Algorithms to personalize content recommendations based on user preferences, viewing history and other relevant data.
  • The platform supports intelligent multi bitrate streaming to support end users with different network conditions and provides them a unique seamless video streaming experience.
  • Built a strong security mechanism to allow secured streaming of content with standard encryption algorithms. Platform for content providers to onboard and manage their content across numerous content partners.
  • Ingestion & analysis of viewership metrics such as watch time, unique viewers & churn rate to understand how users engage with content.
  • Highly scalable and extensible platform to Collect and analyze ad performance metrics such as click-through rates, completes rates & revenue generated through Ads.
